Neurons: are the core component of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Each cell has a soma, axon, and dendrites. It's main function is to process and transmit information.
- Afferent: Neurons that receive information from our sensory organs and transmit that input to the central nervous system. They receive sensory information that is then sent into the interneurons of the central nervous system.
- Efferent: Neurons that send impulses from the central nervous system to your limbs and organs. Receive information from the interneurons and transmit it out. |
